Bankroll Administration
Hello everyone. I will explain the reasons why we should care much the size of our bank, and give you some approximate guidelines which should be this size.
The essential reason why in the poker need our dealer has a certain size to play steadily in a given level is that the
poker short term results have a very large variance. What does this mean? So basically we can not expect that, despite being better than our opponents, our results are positive every day. We will have approximately 40% of sessions in which we lose money, and when we have several straight chained ue what is called bad luck. This is part of the usual results of any good poker player and should not worry the least if we are sure to be better than rivals at this level means that we can continue playing. May we be better than them is necessary because otherwise we would be losing money on average, and therefore we had numerous banks end up ruining us. Banking is necessary because, although we have a positive expectation spells in which bets lose and we need to continue playing for the average (long term) is fulfilled. If we get to 0 chips, we can no longer afford and therefore we can not reach this point.
What values in BB (Big Bet) would be recommended?
Here are two types of players. Some prefer not to downgrade but take longer to blow up because the animators would be too hard, but have a harder time climbing. For these players, I would not recommend to the next level with less than 900BB. It is much more than what most books recommend, but it is the only thing that I think would be enough to hold most of slumps. My experience tells me that on frequent bouts of 500BB and therefore would need to be almost twice as banks to be safe.
For most dynamic players, attempts can be made with 350BB. If you lose 150 bets, down to the previous level, and so on. The advantage of this plan is that we can play at high levels with relatively small bankroll and if we start with favorable results we would win big and have stabilized in the high level. The downside is that if it is not, turn back the losses in a lower level which takes much longer, and possibly a psychic blow hard.
The truth is that having a specific policy on how to manage our bench is quite basic for success in the poker in the long run, because the greatest risk in our race will be run out of funds and therefore unable to continue playing.
